graphics??
Q. Well, i have been having these problems with graphic card issues. Only for this game though. If i put all of the graphics settings on low quality, it does not make a difference. I currently am using an Nvidia 7900GS, i hear complaints about that card having these sorts of problems. I uninstalled this game, and reinstalled it a few days ago. I installed a new patch, and the game was fine, for a few days. Then it went to graphics corruption again, not as bad as this, but these stretched out polygons that really look hideous, and they appear suddenly. Any ideas?? /http/s245.photobucket.co m/albums/gg51/d_sam360/Mu scle/graphic=2520corrupti on/=3faction=3dview&curre nt=3dDSC00260.jpg oh, erm the first link was wrong, try this one:

A. basically its the card from my experiences. some cards just do that for some games other have no problems. Why it dosent happen every time? i think its just a game of luck. Get a newcard or just restart the game when it happens.

How important is a graphics card for graphics?
Q. I keep hearing two things: 1.) Graphics cards are the most important thing in a PC for gaming and graphics. 2.) Graphics cards are not the most important thing; it's all how the developers make the game, and the graphics card is just how the graphics are processed. Which of these statements is true?
Asked by OKwithme - Tue Nov 24 18:47:38 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. In short, neither. The graphics card is the component that renders the image and puts it onscreen. So it would be reasonable to say that a graphics card is a key component in the gaming performance of your PC. But it will not be a useful component if not backed up by the RAM and CPU. Therefore, the most important thing for PC gaming is everything.

What graphics specification do I need to be able to play Flight Simulator on my laptop?
Q. My son has Microsoft's Flight Simulator Deluxe Edition. I need to buy him a new laptop so he can play it! I'm a bit confused as to what specifications I need to be able to get this game to play. I'm not after mega-good graphics, just enough so the 11-year old can play his PC game. I'm thinking of a 3GB machine but do I need one with a specific graphics card?
Asked by Ben H - Wed Nov 25 08:26:11 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. All computer video games should have the system requirements listed on their packaging. Since you are buying a new laptop for your son, almost all new computers are equipped with enough integrated graphics capability to run many of the newer "High-end" games. Examples: The HP Pavilion dv9000 (2006) Notebook has NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 (256 MB) The HP Pavilion dv7 (2008) Notebook has ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics (700 MB) If you are buying a newer (2008 to present) laptop than those above, you should have no trouble installing and playing the game you have.

Q. I'm curious what the easiest would be. I assume it would be some sort of vector graphics editor (as opposed to raster) but I am not very experienced with these.

A. There is an open source program called Inkscape that can save out files as .ps (post script). I've used it and like it.

How do I know if my graphics card meets the minimum requirements for PC game?
Q. When I look at PC game system requirements, it lists a graphics card, but I have no idea if the graphics card that I have meets the requirement. Is there a list of graphics cards that lists them from bad to good? I wish graphics cards would be better named like using numbers 1-999 to denote if they are better or worse. Can anyone help me?

A. this site is not good at all First go in start\Run and write dxdiag. After that note all specs. Then go to this site - then search for the game you want to play then scroll down and select graphic card brand, cpu brand, and ram then click proceed and write model of graphic card and cpu and at last check specs and if there's a cross then you wont be able to run the game smoothly or not at all and it will also tell you the % of games released last 12 month that you can run

A. If your talking about the windows graphics rating I wouldn't worry about that the games rating is for the windows games mostly an graphics rating for Windows features like Aero. Most laptops these days in your case a new one have a good graphics cards inbuilt and so all you need is more ram as video memory is often shared with ram. Also I'd suggest going to your graphics cards website and downloading new drivers for your video card this will also increase you performance over the factory drivers and increase new game compatibility. To find out the version of your graphics card run the dxdiag tool in windows by choosing start run and input the following dxdiag hit enter and up will come all info on your system. How do I know if a graphics card will work for my computer?
Q. I am planning on getting a new graphics card for my computer, but I am not sure if the graphics card will fit. I am planning on getting a Geforce 9400. The computer model is a Gateway 838GM. My current graphics card is a intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL express chipset family. Any help is appreciated.

A. It looks like you will be fine installing this particular graphics card. The slot type your computer has is compatible with it. Just make sure before installing it that you have a power supply that has at least 300watts (You check this by looking at the side of the power supply when you open the case). Also, if it does not have a fan on the rear vent, you should add one because an external card like the one you want to add could generate more heat. Enjoy! =)

How does the graphics card of the 360 compare to current computer standards?
Q. The 360 has some games coming out that look very graphics-intensive, yet my computer probably could barely handle some of the games. For example, wouldn't a game like Street Fighter IV have trouble running on an ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics card with 256MB of dedicated memory?
Asked by OKwithme - Thu Jan 28 14:47:44 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The 360 Graphics processing is handled by the ATI Xenos, which has 10 MB of eDRAM. Its main memory pool is 512 MB in size. At this point in time, much of the bandwidth generated by graphics hardware is required to handle color and z data moving to the framebuffer. ATI hopes to eliminate this as a bottleneck by moving this processing and the back framebuffer off the main memory bus. The bus to main memory is 512MB of 128-bit 700MHz GDDR3 (which results in just over 22GB/sec of bandwidth). This is less bandwidth than current desktop graphics cards have available, but by offloading work and bandwidth for color and z to the daughter die, ATI saves themselves a good deal of bandwidth. The 22GB/sec is left for textures and the rest of the… [cont.]

How should I know before purchasing a new graphics card?
Q. I asked someone from a computer store and he asked what type of graphics card it is? (he said something about PCI) and I said that I didn't know. How do I know what type of graphics card I have and need? I am looking for a decent graphics card for gaming use since my current one (Nvidia geforce 6100) can't run new games on minimum settings. What else do I have to know before purchasing a new graphics card??
Asked by Nicker - Sat Nov 22 09:07:04 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. There are a couple very important things you need to know. 1. What type of bus do you need. 2. what is your budget 3. what kind of games do you want to play The geforce 6100 is an integerated chip, so to determine your bus type you need to look up the specs for your computer. That will tell you what type of card to buy. Your budget and gaming type will tell you what card to buy. If your looking at doing high intensity gaming and dont mind spending a few hundred bucks go for something like the gtx 280. Your problems with running games could also be your processor, hard drive or ram. IF you want more specific help, then you need to tell us what kind of computer you have, what games you want to play, and how much you want to spend.

Q. I've been playin around with graphics and backgrounds, trying to make my own. The backgrounds are easy enough for me, but the graphics are a whole another issue. I currently am using just my regular paint program that came with my computer. And there seems to be no way to save my graphics with a transparent background. So what program do I need for this? Is there an easy to use, free downloadable one out there? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

A. Your right, Windows Paint has no way of defining a transparent background color. However you do have to use a file format that supports transparent colors such as either GIF or PNG. Check out the free Paint.net editor. Also look at the "How to make a transparent GIF" link.

Why would a graphics card cause the wireless internet not to be detected?
Q. I bought a graphics card yesterday and installed it in my desktop. Previously I was using the inbuilt graphics thing on the motherboard. How to upgrade the graphics card of a Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop?
Q. Anyone know how to upgrade or update my laptop's graphics card? I want to upgrade (or update) my graphics card because the game I play still has blurry graphics even if the graphics are set to very high. Thanks in advance ^_^

A. The problem with most (not all) laptops is that the video card chipset is mounted on one of the motherboards in the laptop. They usually have neither an expansion slot nor a way to remove and replace it. Alienware makes (or used to make) a laptop that the Video Chipset was on a proprietary removable module that allowed for upgrade as newer and better video chipsets came out...but they are the only one and are very expensive. If you want a good gaming laptop, you need to look at ones that have large amounts of shareable memory with the system's memory and is either an ATI or nVidia chipset. If you really are into gaming, you really need to consider a desktop that has AGP or PCI expansion slots that will allow for better gaming and future… [cont.]
