How would u make this problem a fraction and a decimal?
Q. How would u make 70.3% a fraction and decimal? and how would you make 300% a fraction and decimal? ty!! peoples!!!
Asked by Cyrina C - Tue Aug 26 19:47:42 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. To make a percentage a decimal simply move the decimal point two places to the left 70.3% = .703 Then you see where the last number falls, in this case the 3 is in the thousandths place so you make it into a fraction by dividing it by 1000... 703/1000 (then reduce if possible) 300% = 3 It is a whole number therefore you just put it over 1 Fraction = 3/1

How do u convert decimal to fraction with square root sym regarding trigonometric functions?
Q. I know how to calculate degrees and radian but I need to know how to convert a decimal I get from degree or radian into a square root fraction also known as a exact answer. For example I have sin 4pie/3 and I know this in decimals is 0.073043073 but what is it in the exact form? I checked the answer key and I see - square root 3 divided by 2 but how do you get this?
Asked by Amanda - Tue Jul 7 17:32:47 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. sin(4pi/3) = sin(pi + pi/3) = - sin(pi/3) (because sin(pi+theta) = -sin(theta)) = - sqrt(3)/2 (because sin(pi/3) = sqrt(3)/2) Ans: - sqrt(3)/2 ___ Remember the following: sin(0) = 0 cos(0) = 1 sin(pi/6) = 1/2 cos(pi/6) = sqrt(3)/2 sin(pi/4) = 1/sqrt(2) cos(pi/4) = 1/sqrt(2) sin(pi/3) = sqrt(3)/2 cos(pi/3) = 1/2 sin(pi + theta) = -sin(theta) sin(pi - theta) = sin(theta) cos(pi +/- theta) = - cos(theta) If you know sin and cos, then you can get other trigonometric ratios because tan = sin/cos cot = cos/sin sec = 1/cos csc = 1/sin

How do you change a mixed fraction to a decimal?
Q. In a previous question, many people answered that in order to change a fraction to a decimal simply divide the top number by the bottom number. That answer was accepted as best answer. Very simple right? Wrong! Let's see you change a MIXED fraction to a decimal using the above math. For example: change 8 and 2/3 or 11 and 5/8 to a decimal. These fractions will require a math expert and can't be answered by simply dividing the top number by the bottom one.
Asked by tibby85 - Thu Feb 8 15:09:49 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. 8 and 2/3 = 8 + 2/3 11 and 5/8 = 11 + 5/8 You can do the conversion in 2 ways: Put a decimal point behind the integer, and divide out the fraction to form the decimal. 8 = 8.000 .. 0.666... 3)2 8.000 +0.666... --- 8.666... OR Convert the mixed NUMBER into an improper fraction and divide the numerator by the denominator. 11 * 5/8 = (88 + 5)/8 = 93/8 .. 11.625 8)93.000 Either way will produce the same result, although the second is a bit of a waste of time.

A. to convert a fraction into a decimal, divide the numerator by the denominator and do long division until you get a remainer of zero: let's say you're converting 3/4 into a decimal. Thus you are dividing 4 into 3, since this isn't possible add a 0 and place a decimal into your answer. Thus 30/4 = 7 with a remainder of 2. Add a 0 and divide again. 20/4 = 5. Therefore, your decimal is 0.75 To convert a decimal into a percent, multiply the decimal by 100. Thus, 0.75 = 75% Hope this helps

How do you change the fraction 3/4 into a decimal?
Q. How can I change the fraction 3/4 into a decimal? How do you change any fraction into a decimal? Explain. Can someone please help ASAP?
Asked by heycatlive - Tue Dec 4 16:47:39 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. A decimal just means that it the number on the bottom of the fraction has been changed into a power of 10. In this case, it will be 100. So you set up the ratio: 3/4 = x/100. If you solve that, you get x = 75. So 3/4 is the same thing as 75/100. You write that as 0.75. The simple way is to grab a calculator and divide 3 by 4 :)

What are the "decimal benchmarks" and "fraction benchmarks" and how would I find the nearest?
Q. Another sleepless night trying to help my son figure out his homework. I'll give an example. For .23 what is the nearest decimal benchmark, the nearest fraction benchmark, and what is your reasoning? These are terms I didn't grow up with. Help?
Asked by Cynthia E - Thu Dec 6 02:52:26 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You have every right to be concerned, the descriptions "decimal benchmarks" and "fraction benchmarks" are open to many interpretations. In this case, make your own [reasonable] interpretations. If the fractional benchmarks where 1/100 ths, this is an exact fraction 23/100. If they are taken to be 1/2, 1/4, 1/5, etc., .23 is closer to 1/4, than any other, BUT it is also closer still to 2/9 [hence the confusion]. For decimal benchmarks, there is less confusion, but it is still there. If the benchmarks are .1, .2, .3, .4, .5, .6, .7, .8, .9 etc., the nearest one is .2. If the benchmarks are further refined [between .2 and .3], with .21, .22, .23, .24, ... then .23 coincides with a benchmark.

A. For getting a percent multiply by 100 so .85 * 100 = 85% do the same thing for a fraction, but then divide by 100 and reduce it: .85*100 = 85 85/100 (this is a fraction) but it can be reduced if each number is divided by 5 85/5 = 17 100/5 = 20 the new fraction is: 17/20 so for .85 you can get: 85% and 17/20

A. okay, find out what the decimal is over a hundred. then keep simplifying it. for example... 0.25 = 25/100 = 5/20 = 1/4 0.20 = 20/100 = 10/50 = 2/10 = 1/5 0.33 = 33/100 = 11/33 = 1/3 0.50 = 50/100 = 25/50 = 5/10 = 1/2
