How do I convert a decimal into a fraction in simplest form?
Q. 0.20 as a fraction in simplest form?
Asked by lilsnickerbug - Thu Jan 4 02:03:08 2007 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. 0.20 is not just pronounced "zero point two zero". You can also say that it is "two tenths." This is because the two is in the tenth place. If we had the number .23, then 3 would be in the hundreth decimal place, etc. "Two tenths" is the same as 2/10. You can see that both the numerator and denominator are divisible by 2, so divide each by two and you will receive 1/5. This is your fraction in simplest form. I hope that this helped.

If the numerator and the denominator are both even is the fraction in simplest form?
Q. Both the numerator and denominator of a fraction are even. Is the fraction in simplest form. Explain
Asked by K8z - Mon Dec 8 20:37:56 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. No. If both the numerator and denominator are even, then they will always be divisible by two and therefore the fraction will not be in simplest form. For example, if the numerator is 10 and the denominator is 12, then you have 10/12 = (10 2)/(12 2) = 5/6 You will never have a numerator and denominator that are not divisible by two as long as they are both even.

A. Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions A mixed number is a combination of a whole number and a fraction. For example, if you have two whole apples and one half apple, you could describe this as 2 + 1/2 apples, or 21/2 apples. Writing Mixed Numbers as Fractions This mixed number can also be expressed as a fraction. Each whole apple contains two half apples. Your two whole apples are also four half apples. Four half apples plus one half apple is five half apples. So you have 5/2 apples. To put this another way: to turn a mixed number into a fraction, multiply the whole number by the denominator (the bottom part), and add the result to the numerator (the top part). 21/2 = ? Multiply the whole number by the denominator. The whole number… [cont.]

Q. How to write a decimal and fraction in simplest form?
Asked by bertrevia w - Tue Dec 1 21:32:06 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. to write a fraction in its simplest form you need to make sure the greatest common factor of the numerator and the denominator is 1. o=if it is not, you need to simplify. find the gcf (greatest common factor) and divide both top and bottom by it. for example: 27/30. the greatest factor they share is 3, so you divide both 27 adn 30 by three and you 9/10. this is the simplest form. another example is 12/24. the gcf is 12. divide like you did before and you get 1/2. for a decimal, all you do is get a fraction and divide the top by the botton. hope this helps!

Asked by the @nim@L - Thu Sep 18 21:15:48 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. -0.4 repeating as a fraction is 4/9. for any repeating fraction, just put the part that's repeating over that many 9's and then reduce the fraction to lowest terms by finding the greatest common factor. for example: 0.3 (repeating) = 3/9 = 1/3 0.4242 = 42/99 = 14/33 Numbers that are not repeating are more straight forward. In your example 0.7 is 7/10s Other examples 0.5 is 5/10 = 1/2 0.25 = 25/100 = 1/4 0.125 = 125/1000 = 1/8
