NVIDIA Geforce GT230 vs ATI Radeon HD 4570 Graphics Card?
Q. For gaming, such as WoW.
Asked by aeth - Sat Dec 5 22:53:36 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Are you actually trying to game with a laptop? The 4570 is a laptop IGP. Now if you meant a 4670, that's different because that's a desktop card. The GT 230 is better.

How smooth will my pc run Crysis with these specs? Will it handle high settings?
Q. Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 processor (2.5GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 4MB Cache) Windows 7 Home Premium 6GB DDR2 memory 1.5Gb nvidia geForce GT230

A. nice boasting, it should be fine to run on highest settings. Make sure your HD RPM is 7500 or 10k not 5.5k. If you bought this from a store and didnt build it yourself, you might wanna get a new better HD cause thats one of the ways they cut corners. But yea, you should be fine

A. I would go with the ATI, I have a buddy who has the 4650 and it has very good graphics even on optimal settings on Far Cry 2 which is a very graphic intensive game.

A. The only way to know for sure is to try it! Meanwhile you'll have to make do with measuring. Keep in mind that it's a full two slots wide, and will be longer than your motherboard! You'll need to ensure that you will be able to reroute any cables that are in the way. On this model HP, the card reader may have to go... The PSU will need to be replaced, consider both how much power is available via the 12v rail, and that enough of the right connectors are available. I suspect that a budget PSU will be a false economy, so be prepared to dig deep. The Southbridge heatsink is likely to be the major stumbling block. If it has practically any height at all, it will need to be replaced, if that's an option - otherwise, you're scuppered! Such… [cont.]

A. If it was possible it could do way more than max cod 4. Thats a really good computer it will easily with no problem at all max cod 4 and even cod 5 which has better graphics therefore requiring a better card. That computer can max most any game available on the market.

A. Really Yougamers gave you wrong info. You can surely play those games in High settings with 1280x800 resolution and get above 35 FPS. GT230 is good enough to play present games on High with resolution 1280x800. For higher resolution gaming, you might need to change to a higher product. But I recommend to not change now, wait for the NVIDIA DirectX 11 cards to be out, then you can purchase a good card, or get the ATI 5750 or 5770 DX11 cards if you want to invest now. ATi 5750 and 5770 can run all present and future games in MAXXED settings in 1920x1200 resolution, and also have DirectX 11 support for future proof next-gen gaming.

Mystery Graphics Card?
Q. Currently I'm running a NVIDIA GeForce GT230 with 1.5 GB of memory. I'm confused becuase some people write that it's just a rebranded 9600 GT though I doubt that after seeing the specs of the 9600. I've also read that it's the rebranded 9800 GT, which seems a little more likely for I'm able to run games such as Crysis and F.E.A.R 2 on the maximum levels of detail for every category. I'm clocking 2.66 gigz on a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 processor, hope that may aid any one on an answer.

A. According to this article it says the GTS 230 is a rebranded 9600 GT: I personally think it's closer to a 9800 GT -- bar a few differences like the slower clock speed and lower bandwdith. Or maybe it's just an underclock version of the 9800 GT. >r I'm able to run games such as Crysis and F.E.A.R 2 on the maximum levels of detail for every category. I'm keen to know what resolutions you normally play on.
