What would be the best graphics card for the money?
Q. I am building a computer and I cannot decide which graphics card to get. So far it looks like everything is pointing towards the geforce over radeon. I was originally looking at getting an ati radeon x1900 xtx, but pushed more towards the geforce 7900 gtx. Then, I have also been reading about the new DirectX 10 coming out soon. I need a graphics card so I am not sure whether to get a decent cheaper card for now and then buy later or just buy a good one now. I was even debating getting a good graphics card now and then buying a good graphics card later that supports DirectX 10 (Would they be campatible and work together?) What should I get? I dont mind getting a good graphics card right now, if it is worth it. I will have the asus m2n32-sli… [cont.]

A. i dont know when dixect 10 wil come out my bet is end of this year plus it will be on high end video like 400-600 range.. if you did most of video editing you will use cpu more that video card... i use to diod video editing on radeon 9550 just need good cpu like amd 4600 or that newer intel conore 2 duo that serious spank amd rear...if you need to buy video card now i will go woth 7900gs it has good gaming power plus it is sli card so you can add one more card to get more power..just make sure it has 256 bus bit and more that 256 memory ram and maybe more that 16 pixel pipes you can look it up on newegg.com in my opinon one of very best sites ever on internet now

A. Do you have integrated graphics or a dedicated graphics card? Good news, bad news. You are going to have to buy a new card BUT definitely not 150. For 150 you can get an 8800gt! If all you want to do is play spore (and even get dual monitor capability) I suggest either the 8400, 8500 or 8600gt graphics from nvidia. The 8600 is a little pricey but the 8500 is extremely cheap AND no need to upgrade power supply. And I can guarantee that it will work. Go on circuit city or amazon and you can get the 8500gt from nvidia for 44.99. Hoped this helped!

If you put in a new graphics card you have to uninstall the drivers for the old one first. Go to Device Manager Click the + sign by display adapter Double Click on the name of the card Go to the driver tab and click uninstall. Shut down your PC and unplug it Open your PC take out the old card, put in the new card. Start the computer Install the new drivers either from the CD or better go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers for your card. Install the new drivers. Onboard graphics have to be disabled in the BIOS.

A. well, if your are looking for an IDE (integrated development enviroment) then Visual Studio is always a good choice. But just about any language that can use the windows GDI or GDI+ (C#, VB have GDI+ built in) then your can easily create graphical apps. GDI is a set of windows functions that allow you to draw lines, dots circles and stuff. It supports bitmap drawing and 32-bit bitmap alphablending. GDI+ is even better as it supports more image formats and is easier to draw with.

Is overclocking your graphics card bad for the card, or the computer?

A. It is bad for the video card only. If the game won't run more than 30 min then it is possible that the graphics card is over heating and it is not because of the clock speed. If the graphics card is slow then a game should still run normally 'except' that the game will lag . the best program for overclocking is rivertuner but it may not support every graphics card.

Q. I recently bought a new game The witcher, now my computer is old but not that old. My graphics card is an WinFast A6600 GT , how much should i overclock it so it runs smoothly, or even runs at all (because it wont run for longer than 30 mins due to the low virtual memory) also any tips or links to overclocking would help. A. It is bad for the video card only. If the game won't run more than 30 min then it is possible that the graphics card is over heating and it is not because of the clock speed. What memory graphics card would i need to run full graphics in Ubuntu?
Q. I know about other parts of computers but i don't know much about what speeds are needed when it comes to graphics cards. Can anyone give me an idea of what memory i would need for a graphics card to be able to fully use compiz? Well as i said i dont know a lot about graphics cards. Could you explain GPU to me so. Graphics processing unit im assuming. What does that do? And what does the memory of a graphics do then? Thanks
