Graphics (from Greek γραφικός graphikos) are visual presentations on some surface, such as a wall, canvas, screen, paper, or stone to brand, inform, illustrate, or entertain. Examples are photographs, drawings, Line Art, graphs, diagrams, typography, numbers, symbols, geometric designs, maps, engineering drawings, or other images. Graphics often combine text, illustration, and color. Graphic design may consist of the deliberate selection, creation, or arrangement of typography alone, as in a brochure, flier, poster, web site, or book without any other element. Clarity or effective communication may be the objective, association with other cultural elements may be sought, or merely, the creation of a distinctive style. Graphics can be functional or artistic. The latter can be a recorded version, such as a photograph, or an interpretation by a scientist to highlight essential features, or an artist, in which case the distinction with imaginary graphics may become blurred. Q. Hello there! I'm 15 years old and I've got a creative idea for a website. I know I'm pretty darn sure it can be made but it's just a method of how. I was able to acquire dream weaver CS 4 (don't ask me how) and I've started mostly on the design of the website. When it comes to design I only know some HTML. I'm thinking about asking for a few things for Christmas that I might need. First off: What would I need to create my own graphics ( i.e banner, icons backgrounds etc.) The thing is, I've always hated creating art. This will allow you to understand the basics of website design but it will take you a while to learn it to a great standard.
